Adding an intelligent feature to an existing workflow is easy. Designing intelligence into the operating logic of a system is a different discipline.
From feature to architecture
The meaningful question is not where an AI model can be inserted. It is where judgment, prediction, or interpretation can materially change an operational outcome.
That requires understanding decisions, data provenance, constraints, and accountability before selecting technology.
Design for the decision
A useful intelligent system makes its reasoning legible, exposes uncertainty, and gives people the right level of control.
The interface, workflow, data model, and assurance layer are all part of the intelligence. The model is only one component.
